In this exhibition, the Lentos Kunstmuseum in Linz, Austria, puts its Bayer Archive and Collection center stage. The Bayer Center is thrilled to share the exhibit Herbert & Joella Bayer: Joining Forces in the Service of Art, curated by Elisabeth Nowak-Thaller, which opened on September 30, 2022.

The exhibition includes more than 200 works drawn from the Lentos museum’s Bayer archive, among the most comprehensive in Europe. Nowak-Thaller focuses on Bayer’s accomplishments as a commercial designer in Germany and the United States while recognizing Joella Bayer’s often-overlooked contributions to Bayer’s creative successes.

The Exhibition is scheduled to run through January 8, 2023. The museum hosted a symposium on October 7, at which Bernard Jazzar, curator of the Bayer Center’s “Herbert Bayer: An Introduction”, was the featured speaker.
